Preparation for Home Starts Day One of the Solstice Journey

From the first day of attendance at Solstice East, and every day leading up to graduation, our esteemed clinical team and extended staff are working to provide the best course of action for each student transitioning from a therapeutic community to real-world living. Our transitional support program is unique to Solstice. We created it to give families unrivaled therapeutic support in preparation for and throughout the transition back into the home environment and beyond. As one of the first residential treatment centers in the US to implement and develop this level of aftercare, we’re proud to incorporate this essential service into our program and offer it to all graduating families.

Research has proven that parental involvement in the treatment process increases positive outcomes. Beyond receiving direct aftercare support, families are encouraged to attend and participate in quarterly multi-day family seminars designed to strengthen the parent-child relationship. These clinically-led events also include workshops and training that aid in preparation for returning home and experiencing long-term success. We provide our students and their families with the tools and techniques necessary to thrive beyond our campus by actively identifying and preparing in advance for challenges that may lie ahead.

At Solstice East, the transition process is part of the hero’s journey. That is why transitional support and aftercare services are available to all graduating students and their families. In addition to the transition services available to help families prepare for graduation, families can also opt in to several continued care package options for use after graduation. We know that each of our students will embark on different journeys once they graduate from Solstice East. Many students will return home to attend high school classes or take a gap year; others will jump into dorm life at university or a boarding school, and; some will leave to explore transitional living. Our on-staff Transition Coaches have years of knowledge in assisting students and families with advice and guidance to make these transitions as smooth and successful as possible.
