The Solstice mission is to support adolescents, and their families, in developing excellence in relationships, influence, character, and health throughout their life journeys. Through relationship-based programming, we help students restore and rebuild healthy, trusting relationships with their families, peers, teachers, and staff.

Family-Centered Approach to Repair Relationships
We offer an intensive family focus which specifically addresses relationship and family dynamics. This is accomplished through family therapy sessions, family seminars, multi-family groups, and experiential interventions. This method, which fosters an environment of unparalleled and unwavering focus, has proven to be a powerful component in the process of helping families and teens create lasting change. Families are involved in their child’s therapeutic process throughout their healing journey.
Our Heroes, Their Journeys
At Solstice East, we use the archetypal Hero’s Journey to describe the therapeutic process and establish goals. Using the Hero’s Journey as a guide, students and families must learn, grow, and achieve in order to move from one phase of the journey to the next. We understand that every student and parent approaches this journey from a different perspective, takes a unique path, which allows them to pass through the stages at their own pace.
This Journey is about people, not programs. From the passionate people we employ to the families who entrust us with their children to the incredible young adults who rededicate themselves to this new journey…the challenges are there, but the results are worth the effort.

Our Philosophy
Solstice East has grown out of many years of experience working with teens in residential treatment. We have developed a clinically intensive program based on the specific needs of our students. Our philosophy is based upon our beliefs and experiences related to the creation of genuine, lasting change in adolescents. Those beliefs are as follows:
- People, more than programs, create the most lasting impact.
- Intensive family focus to address the child’s most important emotional connections – family.
- Focus on internal change through value development, rather than external compliance.
- Holistic approaches that address both physical and emotional needs (mind-body connection).
- Individual-specific interventions; as we all have unique problems and needs.
